At approximately 6:10am on Friday 25th September, the first aircraft to land on St Helena Island took off for its return journey to Lanseria Airport in South Africa via Namibia. The crew had spent 10 days conducting calibration flights for some of the Navigation Aids installed at St Helena Airport and to validate Instrument Flight Procedures.
